3. Data protection statement

CLAAS takes the protection of personal data very seriously indeed. We want you to know when we collect data and how we use it. We shall ensure both from a technical and organisational perspective that the various data protection provisions are complied with; not just by us but also by any external service providers who work for us.

Personal data

Personal data is any type of information that can be used to establish your identity. This includes your name, address, postal address and telephone number. This does not include any information that is not linked to your identity (e.g. the number of Online Service users). In principle you can use our Online Service without revealing your identity.

If you wish to order products or set up a customer account, we shall however need to ask you for your name and other personal information. It shall be your decision as to whether you wish to enter this data or not. For certain actions however, such as the ordering of goods, there are certain pieces of information which shall be necessary. Should any further information be requested, this shall be marked as optional information.

Storage and processing of personal data

Your information shall be stored by us on servers that are particularly secure. These are protected thanks to a number of technical and organisational measures against the loss, destruction, access, modification or disclosure of your data by unauthorised persons. Access to your data is only permitted to a small number of authorised persons. These individuals are responsible for the technical, commercial or editorial maintenance of the servers. Despite regular checks, complete protection against all threats is however not possible.

The transmission of personal data is encrypted over the Internet. We use SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layer) for the transmission of data.

Data on your access shall be stored on our servers for backup purposes (e.g. IP address, date, time and pages). This could possibly lead to identification. The IP address shall not however be used by us to identify the user. We may however use the recorded IP addresses, if necessary, for (anonymous) statistical analysis.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties

We shall only use your personal information for orders within our company and related companies, as well as for companies who are commissioned to handle orders. We shall not disclose your data to third parties without your express written consent, and certainly not for advertising purposes. We shall only forward your data to the relevant authorities if required to do so under law or by court order.

Use of cookies and web tracking

On our website we use a number of systems belonging to Webtrends Inc. (www.webtrends.com) for marketing and optimisation purposes. The system permits a more detailed analysis of user behaviour on our sites. This can be done if required by creating an anonymous user profile. No personal identification of individual users or merging of other data shall however take place.

Protection of minors

Children and young persons under the age of 18 should not transmit any personal data to us without permission from their parents or guardians. We do not request personal data from children, collect it or disclose it to third parties.

Links to other websites

Our Online Service contains links to other websites. We do not have any influence on compliance with the various data protection provisions by the other operators.

Information request

You have the right to request information about your stored data and, where applicable, also have the right to correct, block or delete the data. The contact person in this instance is our Data Protection Officer.
